What a technical SEO score can—and cannot—tell you

How to read the DIYSEOHub scores shown in our directory, including missing and older results.

It is a measurement of the vendor’s website

The score beside a tool describes a technical crawl of that tool’s public website. It is not a rating of the software, customer support, pricing, or the quality of its data. A tool can be useful even if its marketing website has technical problems.

We attribute the score to DIYSEOHub, which is owned by the same operator as 42backlinks. The featured placement is a commercial relationship and is disclosed separately from the score.

A missing result is not a zero

Some sites block automated crawlers; some requests fail; some reports are still being prepared. We show an unavailable or pending state when there is no valid score. A genuine zero is stored and displayed as zero.

We only accept a numeric score between 0 and 100 from the specific completed scan or a clearly identified public score element. We do not guess from a random percentage on the report page.

Check the timestamp and the underlying report

The directory schedules another scan every 72 hours. Delays and provider limits can extend that interval. Older successful measurements remain visible with their date when a refresh fails, and results older than six days are marked as older results.

Follow the report to see what was crawled. Compare like-for-like coverage and examine the issue list before deciding what the number means. A changed score can reflect a changed crawl as well as a changed website.
